Live blog: Julie Lalonde on Talking to Young People about Sexting, Technology and Gendered Violence

Social justice activist Julie S. Lalonde presents “Talking to Young People About Sexting, Technology and Gendered Violence” on Friday, Mar. 13 at Laurier Brantford. The lecture is part of a week of events marking International Women’s Day organized by the Collective for Feminist Action and Research (CFAR) at Laurier Brantford.

Lalonde developed and now manages Draw-the-Line.ca, a bystander intervention campaign for the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres, and was awarded the 2013 Governor General’s Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case for her work to improve the lives of women and girls by advocating for an end to sexual assault and harassment.

Her lecture will be live-blogged by Orlaith McDonogh, Kyle Morrison and Mia Vamos-Yuhasz, all of whom are students in Prof. Bruce Gillespie’s JN319: Integrated Newsroom course.
